Emily's New Class

"Oh, no!" Emily cried! She was really upset. Her dad had just showed her an e-mail he had received from her school. Emily went to Boxer Elementary School. She was in 4G, in Ms. Gealy's class. She had made lots of friends there and she loved her class. She did not want to move, and now there was a new 4th grade section and she had been put there! Emily was really sad. She loved her classroom, she loved her teacher, and she loved her classmates. She, Emily did not want to go to the new class! Besides, she was not sure how her new teacher was going to be like. Also, they (everyone) were going to transfer tomorrow! Emily hoped her friends were in the new class. She would ask and find out tomorrow (hopefully).

When tomorrow came, she asked every one of her friends, but only one or two were in her class, she was so disappointed, she wanted to stay in Ms. Gealy's class, not go to the new teacher (Ms. Honey's) class. But, after thinking about it, maybe she will like her new friends, teacher and the classmates more than in Ms. Gealy's class. She would just have to wait and see. After lunch time, Ms. Gealy called for their attention and she told them sadly that the time to move to 4H (the new section) had come. She said that she will miss them and she gave Emily and all the other students who were moving a candy as a good-bye present. When Emily got an idea of who were moving, she almost burst out crying. She did not want to leave her friends! Her friends were also sad to leave her. They too almost cried. Everyone was sad. Some people who were leaving even started to cry! Emily soon joined in. She tearfully collected her belongings and lined up to go to the new class.

When she went in the new class, she was surprised. It looked so bright, cheerful and welcoming! Emily loved the classroom. Their teacher soon assigned them the seats and told them to put their stuff away. Then Emily's class did introductions and then they were introduced about the new classroom. Emily was delighted. They had a garden with a fountain just out the back door and they could have their snacks outside if they wanted to.

Emily was glad she had moved there, though she still missed her friends. Then Emily and her class went out to see the garden, take a quick look at the fountain and came back to class. After a while, Emily's class had recess. Emily was glad to see her friends and everyone had fun. After the recess they went out in the garden again and discussed the class routine and stuff.

Then it was time to go home. Emily loved her new class. Most importantly, she now knew that her new teacher was very nice. Emily loved the move.
