My Pigeon,Puffer.

One day, we saw two pigeons on our A.C. vent. They made a nest. The mommy laid an egg. The egg hatched and a chick came out.

When we first saw it, it was very cute. It was about a week or so. It was kind of fat. It had tiny wings and a small head. It was sort of pink and had yellow hair all over its body.

One day it fell out of the nest and on to the ground. It hid in the bushes. We took it inside and set it free on the carpet. It was scared and puffed itself up to make it look bigger. We now touched it for the first time. It had grown fine flight feathers. But its head and neck were still covered with yellow hair. It was much cuter now. We think it is a boy and named him puffer.

A long time had passed and Puffer's mom and dad now only see him for a short time in the evening to feed him. They first eat the grains and then they take it out of their tummies and feed it to Puffer. Puffer eats the grains out of their beaks.

Puffer is very big now. His mom and dad try to teach him how to eat grains on his own. Puffer has not yet learned. They try real hard for 2-3 days but he just does not eat it and wants the food from them only.

Once, while they were trying to make him eat grains on his own, he ate one. He ate one but it was just the beginning and he did not eat more. May be he does not like raw grains and prefers them from his parents.

His parents also teach him how to drink water. They show it to him many times. The parents hope that Puffer will try to copy them.

Puffer thinks it is fun. So he decides to try it. He walks over to the bowl to try it.

He leaps on to the rim and stands there. But he loses his balance and falls in. He gets out again by jumping.

Puffer's parents also try to teach him how to fly. He flaps his wings but he cannot fly. One day he flew to the ladder outside. He flew on the first step and it was the beginning. Sure enough now we can't get him off the ladder. Now he can climb to the top of the ladder and just likes to watch the scene from there.

I love Puffer very much he is so cute. I am enjoying my life with Puffer and I want to keep him forever.
